Creative Acts of Resistance

If you have a creative idea that uses the power of art (music, dance, visual imagery, etc.) that can tell our story and uplift our community, submit your proposal today. We are looking for proposals that inspire, uplift and demonstrate our communities’ dignity and resilience. Think creatively. One example is Jolt’s Quinceañera at the Capitol action against SB4.  The action was a mix of Latinx pride, girl power, protest and performance.  With a modest budget, the action reached an estimated 50 million Americans. A committee will help select 10 proposals to receive funding ranging from $500 to $1,500. Proposal can be submitted by individual artists (musicians, visual artists, filmmakers, etc), artist collectives, and community organizations. Proposals may be submitted up until midnight January 10, 2018 Eastern Standard Time.
