Join Grammy Nominated Voz de Mando for the historic UNITY MARCH & CONCERT on Saturday, September 2nd. We’re bringing together Texas’ diverse communities of color with a free concert and march to show lawmakers that we are powerful, that we are united, and that we will fight against SB4 and all attacks on our community! More bands TBA soon!
Latinos are the future of Texas: we make up 1 in 3 eligible voters and soon we’ll be the majority. We are powerful and we are coming together to demand dignity and respect for our community.
Latinos face disproportionate challenges in Texas. Governor Greg Abbott is trying to criminalize us and separate our families through laws like SB4 and by trying to end DACA. Latino kids in Texas are more likely to attend low performing schools. Latino workers earn less than other groups. And almost one third of Latinos don’t have health insurance. But Governor Abbott and too many of our elected leaders don’t want to work on these issues. Instead, they want to pass hateful bills like SB4.. Instead of unifying Texans they want to discriminate against immigrants, Latinos, LGBTQ+ individuals and all people of color.
Now is the time to organize and speak out across Texas. BastaTexas is about working together to build and lift up the local resistance and movement of non-compliance that will defeat the politics of hate and fear.
